Beauty all around us

Snow Beautiful Snow

This morning began with typical weather for this part of the country, but as the day progressed it got colder and the snow started to fall. It fell and it fell and it is still falling as I write this post. This was not completely unexpected. If I had listened to a weather forecast I would have known what was coming. This is after all Indiana in February. As I watched the snow fall I instantly felt calmer. It made me think of new beginnings and how beautiful it would look when the next season arrived.

The falling snow was calming. The scene as I looked out the glass patio doors was breathtaking. The backyard showed the snow on the ground with only small bird tracks visible to mar the pristine surface. The pine trees were partially covered with snow with just a hint of green peeking out. The field beyond our property showed a vast white wonderland. All in all it was beautiful to behold.

Think About This

God gives us such incredible beauty every day. We only have to open our eyes to see his glory on this day and every day. When you feel overwhelmed by life and the challenges you encounter, stop and look around. Looking around shows us the beauty we can find in our everyday lives. It is not always the scenery, sometimes it is the people we encounter in our lives, or the things we do for others. It isn't always easy. Sometimes we have to dig deep to find and appreciate the beauty surrounding us. When we find the beauty in our lives we have to cherish it and cultivate it.
