3 Of My Favorite Things

Image of Thankful decoration for post about 3 of my favorite things.

Someone asked me the other day what are 3 of my favorite things I use or need every day. It was a hypothetical question, but it got me thinking about it. That’s a hard one. Narrowing down my list to 3 for my favorite things is a challenge.

Sometimes we do not realize how much we need or use something until someone asks us. It is also hard to narrow down favorites to 3 things however that is the question that was asked.

Bible

My Bible would be my first favorite thing that I could not live without. I use it every day. I try to start my day off with Bible study. This makes the rest of the day so much better no matter what life has in store for me.

When I traveled for my job, I listened to a Bible app on Bluetooth in my car. This was a really simple way to accomplish two things at once. It made me feel very efficient!

I love the Bible app because I can have my Bible with me all of the time, even if I do not have my actual Bible in my hands. I prefer my Bible in hand but sometimes a Bible app can fill in for certain situations.

I like to think of my Bible and my faith as something I need every day. If things are going well, I am thankful. If I am struggling, I am asking for grace. It is truly something I need every day.

Coffee

Coffee is my second favorite thing. I once saw a slogan on a shirt that said, “I run on coffee and Jesus”. I stopped and re-read that because it seemed very accurate for my life as well as many other people’s lives.

Sometimes I just sigh with pleasure when I take that first sip of coffee. It tastes so so good and I have the added benefit of knowing it will boost my energy level a bit.

I try to drink coffee sparingly. Enjoying a cup in the morning and possibly another cup in the afternoon. I have found I need to have that second cup not too late in the afternoon, if I do not want it to interfere with my sleep.

I am not the person who can sip on coffee all day long. For me, that does not increase my energy level but it makes me shaky and unable to focus.

Kitchen Aid Mixer

My Kitchen Ais Mixer is my 3rd favorite thing. This thing is big and takes up a lot of space in the kitchen, but I use it almost every day. Sometimes I use it even when a small hand-held mixer will do, just so I can use it. That’s how much I love it.

I fell in love with this thing as soon as I got it for my birthday years ago. It is red and it makes me happy just to look at it! It wasn’t cheap, but I hope to use it for the rest of my life, so hopefully it ends up being a bargain.

These are 3 of my favorite things. Narrowing that list to 3 was hard! How about you. What are some of your favorite things? Things you need or use every day.
